Satellite data has grown faster than the intelligence produced from it

Conflict is accelerating
The invasion of Ukraine marked a threshold rather than an isolated event, and Europe is being pushed toward primary responsibility for its own security. Production and deployment cycles are compressing, and concealment is improving as they do.
Intelligence shelf life is getting shorter
European institutions are understaffed relative to the volume of data they now receive, and capability has been slower to build than the data has been to arrive. The distance between how fast events unfold and how fast intelligence can be produced keeps widening.
Data that is not turned into an assessment before conditions change is not intelligence. It is an archive.
Two conditions have changed
The first is data. Commercial multi-sensor coverage has crossed a threshold of continuity, and over the locations that matter there is now enough repeated observation to derive pattern of life rather than periodic snapshots.
The second is compute. Processing that volume into structured, interpreted output has become practical, which moves the bottleneck from data to exploitation speed. That is a different problem, and a solvable one.
Augmentation and Control
This is an argument for augmentation. Intelligence departments are short-staffed already, so the answer is not fewer analysts. It is each analyst covering more ground, faster, with less manual triage. We turn data into decision-relevant information at the speed a person needs in order to act on it, and there is a deterrent effect in being known to notice a change quickly.
The second half of our position is control. Intelligence is not a commodity input but a strategic asset, and how it is produced determines who can be pressured, delayed, or cut off. Europe should not accept dependency on platforms for this asset class where it does not have to, least of all at the interpretation layer, where judgement and doctrine live.
Control of the step where data becomes intelligence is where that argument concentrates. Who holds the baselines, who runs the models, and who can see the finished assessment determines whose judgement a ministry is ultimately relying on. That is the layer we built the company to own, and to hand to the customer.
